Raising a healthy happy puppy is not always easy but we can help you to navigate through the challenges. For puppy training in Kelowna, our puppy training class is designed to provide you with the skills necessary to set your puppy up for success and provide a strong foundation for a lifetime of happiness with your new canine family member.
Puppy training classes are designed for puppies 10 – 20 weeks of age, having had their second set of shots. Please register early as puppy training classes fill very quickly. Your puppy must be no older than 14 weeks in order to attend puppy training classes. Play styles and physical size of puppies change dramatically as they grow up so we want to ensure that pups graduate by the time that they are 20 weeks of age.
There is a small window of time where socialization and experiences for your puppy can be maximized. This is in the first 3 months of life. "Veterinarians specializing in behaviour recommend that owners take advantage of every safe opportunity to expose young puppies to the great variety of stimuli that they will experience in their lives. Enrolling in puppy classes prior to three months of age can be an excellent means of improving training, strengthening the human-animal bond, and socializing puppies in an environment where risk of illness can be minimized" American Veterinary Association.

The main focus is on appropriate socialization as well as building a positive relationship with your dog. Work with your pup will be both on and off leash and we look at the foundation skills for focus, attention, canine manners, the recall as well as potty training, mouthing, chewing, play and puppies with children which includes DogGoneSafe’s Be a Tree Bite Prevention Program. This puppy training class runs for 5 weeks, 45 minutes every week.
Classes will be a maximum of 4 pups and two people per puppy. Fee for in person classes is $185.00
